1. What are the locations?

2. Is there a registration fee?

Yes, BMYD requires a (one-time fee) 1 Registration fee per child to reserve your camper’s spot.

3. What does the registration fee include?

The registration fee includes enrollment, 1 camper t-shirt, and field trips.

4. What is a transaction fee?

A transaction fee is a percentage-based fee (taxes) assessed to your account for using Active.

5. How do I register and what is the cost of Summer Day Camps?

Registration opens 03/01/2024, however, spots are limited. Register on the main camps page and choose your desired camp location. The registration fee varies per location and is listed on the BMYD website. This fee is non-refundable, non-transferrable. TRANSACTION FEES WILL BE ACCESSED. Please register at your earliest convenience.

6. When does camp start and what are the hours of operation?

Camp hours of operation: Monday – Friday, 6am – 6pm
Duval County Dates: June 10 – July 26, 2024
Clay County Dates: No Clay County camps at this time.

7. How does drop-off and pick-up work?

Drop off begins at 6am daily. Breakfast is served from 8am – 9am, we prefer parents to drop off their campers no later than 9am. You must bring your camper into the school building to sign them in. When picking up your camper you must come in to sign your child out. All campers must be picked up by 6pm.

8. Can I pick my child up from a field trip?

You may pick-up your camper from a field trip location, however, you MUST make personal/direct contact with the Camp Director to let them know that your child will be picked up in advance. Upon arrival and prior to departure identification must be presented to verify that the camper is being released with a pre-authorized pickup person.

9. What are the minimum and maximum ages for Summer Day Camps?

Ages for Camp are 5-16-year-old. A child may attend Camp upon their 5th birthday the maximum age of a camper is 16 years old.

10. Who supervises the campers?

There are several staff members who help to supervise the campers daily. Amongst those staff are Directors, Assistant Directors (varies per location) and Camp Instructors assisted by Camp Counselors and Camp Volunteers. All BMYD staff are CPR & First Aid Certified, have undergone reference and level 2 background checks.

11. What is the camper to teacher ratio?

Camper to teacher ratio is 1 to 25 with 1 to 2 helpers.

12. Is there a cost for breakfast and lunch?

Breakfast and Lunch will be included at most locations. However, at select locations where meals will not be served you may purchase an additional meal plan (Oakleaf & Fleming) at the cost of $25 per week online or in person at the camp location.

13. Do we pay for weeks my camper doesn’t attend?

No, you do not pay for weeks your camper does not attend.

12. What does my child need to bring to camp?

Prior to arriving at Camp, parents should apply a layer of sun screen. For swimming and water days, campers should bring a swimsuit & towel, campers may also bring goggles, ear plugs, flip flops or sandals on swim days (pre-labeled with their name). Additional money for the BMYD store and field trip snacks is allowed, however, all personal items and money are the responsibility of the camper.

13. What is a typical day at camp?

An example of daily camp activity can include some of the following: 7:15 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Drop-off time, structured learning 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Indoor/Outdoor Activity 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (Sports, skills, activities, i.e.) Lunch 12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. Creative Crafts, Quiet Group Games 1:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Indoor/Outdoor Activity 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Snack (provided by camper) and Activity 4:00 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. Pick-up time, free play.

14. Who transports my child to field trips and to the pool?

Transportation is contracted with the DCPS, CCSB, PCSB and BCSB using their busses and drivers.

16. Are campers grouped together by age?

Campers will be grouped together by age and grade level.

17. Do I have to pay for a field trip if my child is not attending Camp that day?

Field Trip cost is included within your fees.

18. Will my child be photographed at camp?

All campers may be subject to photographs and/or videos while participating in BMYD camps, camp activities and field trips. However, they will not be featured with any personal information (i.e.: name/age).
